Team LINEA is a multi-disciplinary firm with over 25 years' experience with residential and commercial Building Forensics, Building Envelope consulting, Material Science and Specifications, Professional Opinion and Professional Witness, Adaptive Reuse, Architecture, Interiors, Consulting, Master Planning, and Project Management.

We are experts in the Design-Build project delivery method and enjoy sharing construction administration experience and the pit falls of the construction process in general.

The firm lineage dates back to 2000 when Steven founded Brown Dog Designs. In 2012, with his eventual Architecture and General Contracting licensure, he founded A408 Studio as both a Design-Build Architecture firm and General Contractor. In 2016 Steven closed A408 to focus on Architecture only, and Steven Johnson Architect PLLC (SJA) was born. In early 2023 Steven brought on Elizabeth Lufbery as his Lead Interiors and Residential Designer and turned SJA into Team LINEA Architecture and Interiors. In 2025 Team LINEA recognized a need in the well building market to expand their construction management expertise into with Building Forensics, Building Envelope consulting, Material Science and Specifications, Professional Opinion and Professional Witness, Adaptive Reuse, and QA/QC drawing development services.

What does LINEA mean? The better question, is what does it DO?

Our mission is provided Better Buildings and Better People. We offer a LINEAr process (see where we are going with this) that provides professional consultation and licensed Architecture, and we believe that better partners and better buildings will always lead to better people, better people on your team and better people in your buildings.
The most efficient path from point A to point B is a straight LINE (getting the picture?). We provide only what you need, focusing on educating you on the process and making sure we answer all of your questions. The process can be messy, confusing, and frustrating ... its organic. We are not promising to eliminate those messy, confusing, and frustrating elements, but we do promise to that our better people will deliver you a better building.
